5 Cool Things You Can Do on Chromecast With Google TV

Firstly we need to enable the option to install from unknown sources

Click Settings

Click System

Click About

Click Android TV OS build 7 times until you see a message that Developer Options have been enabled

Go back up and open Developer Options

Ensure that USB Debugging is enabled

Go back up until you see the Apps menu item, click that

Click Security & Restrictions

Push the right arrow to move to the right side of the screen where apps are located

Turn on unknown sources for the Downloader app

Create a custom partition

If you plug a large USB drive in to your Chromecast but only want to format a portion of it as device storage, we can use ADB commands to create the partitions for us.

First we will get the disk ID by typing in the command

sm list-disks

So the disk ID is 8,0 , we can now enter in the following command to format that disk

sm partition disk:8,0 mixed 50

The number after mixed determines what percent is formatted as external storage (not device storage)
