Why is this needed?
It seems that Amazon are constantly trying to block us from taking control of our devices. A custom launcher is agreat way to speed up the device and also not see any sponsored content. If you custom launcher has stopped working then follow the steps below
Steps:
- Enable installation from Unknown Sources on your device
- Ensure you have ADB debugging enabled
- Remove any previous versions of Fire TV Settings / FTV Launch X
- Using downloader to install the 2 APK from the bottom of this page
- Go to your apps library and open up Wolf Launcher (You must do this once)
- Press the home key and now open up the Launcher Manager
Click on Disable Stock Launcher you will see:
Click on Always Allow and then OK
You can now press the home key and you will go straight to your custom launcher
If you want to access your native Fire TV Settings, open up this settings application
You can then use any of the shortcuts at the bottom of the Launcher manager
Make sure you custom launcher is selected and hit save. Press the home key and you should see your custom launcher
How to go back to default launcher
Open up Launcher Manager
Select “Enable Stock Launcher”
Select Uninstall
Press the home key
