Hard to reach portions of some legacy app that you’re running on your Android TV? Feeling the need to have a touch input in your Android TV? Or just looking for an alternative to the famous Mouse Toggle App for your TV?
Virresh has done an amazing job and created MATVT: Mouse for Android TV Toggle. The latest version allows you to detect and use any button to trigger the virtual mouse.

Install the application from the link below and we then need to grant permissions to draw over apps and also the accessibility services.
How to grant Draw over permissions
- Go to settings — APPS— Special APP access
Click on Display over other apps
Find MATVT in the list and enable the permission
How to enable Accessibility Services
Navigate to Settings — System and click on Accessibility
Enable the Mouse Event Listening Service
How to Activate the virtual mouse
Hold down the Mute button for 2 seconds and you will see
If you press the mute button once after activating the mouse, the mouse will go in to scroll mode. Press the mute button again to go back in to Mouse mode.
Mouse will also move through the edges of the screen – great way to get around !

- Tivo stream 4k (I used keycode 8 which is the 1 key on the remote)

- Mi Box (Keycode 284 which is for the app drawer button)
